We're launching a new fanzine dedicated exclusively to Evercade and its universe. If you're looking for news, curiosities, releases and everything that revolves around the console that brought back the glory of the physical cartridge, this is your place!
📅 This fanzine has a monthly frequency, published at the end of each month with all the news, releases and recommendations from the Evercade world. Get comfortable and dust off your D-pad.

What is Evercade: consoles, hardware and philosophy
The Evercade Console
Evercade is a console family developed by Blaze Entertainment que apuesta por el juego físico y legal de clásicos — y nuevos indies — en cartuchos coleccionables. Desde 2020, la marca ha lanzado:
- Evercade (handheld) [2020]: Compact, 4.3" screen and eighties design. ⚠️ DISCONTINUED
- Evercade VS [2021]: Desktop console, accepts two cartridges and supports up to 4 players. ⚠️ DISCONTINUED
- Evercade EXP [2022]: Improved handheld, with bright IPS screen and access to vertical games (TATE mode). Integrated Capcom games pack. ⚠️ DISCONTINUED
- Evercade Alpha [2024]: They are fully functional "bartop" arcade machines, with a compact design focused on classic arcade gaming. Compatible with the entire collection of retro and indie cartridges.
- Evercade VS-R [2025]: Desktop console, accepts two cartridges and supports up to 4 players. Performance improvements.
- Evercade EXP-R [2025]: Improved handheld, with bright IPS screen and access to vertical games (TATE mode). No HDMI output or integrated Capcom games.
- Super Pocket [2025]: Ultra-compact portable consoles inspired by classics like Capcom, Taito and Atari. "Mini" format with integrated games and compatibility with additional Evercade cartridges.
⚠️ Discontinued consoles: Those marked as "DISCONTINUED" are no longer officially manufactured. If you find any in stores, it may be your last chance to get one new!
Why cartridges?
Each Evercade cartridge includes between 1 and 20 games (depending on title), comes with its own box and manual, and even artwork and details matching the eighties/nineties spirit. No more digital, time to blow and collect!
The three Evercade cartridge families
Evercade cartridges are organized into three main collections, each with its own distinctive color:
- Console (Red): Classic games from home consoles like Atari 2600, Intellivision, Lynx, Mega Drive and more. The nostalgic heart of home gaming.
- Home Computer (Blue): Legendary titles from personal computers like Commodore 64, Amiga, Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum. The essence of 80s European gaming.
- Arcade (Purple): Arcade classics from SNK, Capcom, Taito, Data East and other arcade giants. The authentic arcade experience at home.
Each color not only identifies the origin of the games, but also helps organize your collection visually and thematically. A perfect retro rainbow!
What is a Legacy cartridge?
"Legacy" indicates cartridges whose license expires and are discontinued, so if you see one, get it before it runs out! The cartridges currently marked as Legacy are:

- Technos Arcade 1
- Codemasters Collection 1
- Atari Lynx Collection 1
- Atari Lynx Collection 2
- The Oliver Twins Collection
- Technos Collection 1

Which Evercade suits me?
With so many options, choosing your first Evercade can be confusing. We'll give you a hand with this quick guide!
🎮 Starting from scratch
Evercade EXP-R: The most complete and current handheld. Perfect if you want to take retro games everywhere. Bright IPS screen and TATE mode for vertical shoot'em ups.
🏠 For the family room
Evercade VS-R: Desktop with dual cartridge slots and up to 4 controllers. Ideal for multiplayer sessions on the couch with Metal Slug, Street Fighter or cooperative games.
🕹️ For arcade nostalgics
Evercade Alpha: Bartop machine with authentic arcade design. If you have space and want to recreate the complete arcade experience, this is your machine.
👛 On a tight budget
Super Pocket: The most economical option. Ultra-portable with integrated games from Capcom, Taito or Atari, plus compatibility with some Evercade cartridges.
💡 Pro tip: If you want portable + TV, the previous EXP model had HDMI but suffered from some battery problems. For TV gaming without complications, the desktop VS-R is better.

- 'Secret' Menu: Codes are entered in the 'Secret' menu in settings, not in individual games
- No cartridge: EXP button combinations need to be done without a cartridge inserted
- Cartridge combinations: Insert both specific cartridges to unlock unique games
- Persistent codes: Some codes like "SEIJIWASHERE" need to be entered each time you play
- Diagnostic screen: Use X + Y + L1 + R1 on the cartridge screen to access
